In this chapter, you play as Atreus, alone this time.
Cutscene over and quest updated, nav assist to the gateway and interact. Sindri will pull you aside before you go through.
You’ll automatically go to the correct destination, with some funny dialogue as you do so.
Take the exit as usual and nav assist to the interact prompt for another cutscene, where Angrboda returns.
Cutscene done, follow the interact prompts, nav assisting in between to get to another cutscene, featuring Odin.
Second cutscene done and destination secured via a quest update, nav assist your way forward. Even if you wanted to find your room as the dialogue recommends, that gets a little tricky as the prompts, once again, aren’t easy to locate.
Instead, nav assist to Thrud to have a conversation, then to an interact prompt.
From here, wait until the conversation finishes, then nav assist onwards.
After Thrud says Weapons aren’t allowed inside
, you’ll enter a new area.
Once Thrud advises you to Look around
, you can start nav assisting to get to where you need to be.
After more movement and being accosted by one of an establishment’s patrons, you’ll be able to nav assist a little to trigger a cutscene.
Cutscene over, as you might expect from being in a place with clientele as drunk as this, a fight breaks out and once you regain control, you know what to do.
Unfortunately, at least on PS4, this section has a propensity to break so you may have to restart the checkpoint to get things to work correctly.
My suggestion would be to stand still, lock on and just hit light attack constantly, then run forward and you should be able to lock onto new enemies and trigger a cutscene when running towards them.
To exit the second phase, once you get no enemy lock-on, turn towards the sound of electricity if it’s present, then run towards it. If you’re successful, you should see Thrud attacking as part of what becomes a QTE of sorts.
Follow the prompts and, once you’ve dealt with the next wave of enemies, follow the crashing sounds or run around for a little while, without nav assist of course, to another intermission sequence.
Now your light and heavy attacks will become auto-aimed arrows, so keep pressing them until the next cutscene triggers automatically.
When it appears, hit the hold cue as prompted and, when Thrud says Let’s get him outa here
, pull backwards on the left stick.
This will eventually get you, with a loud crash, into another cutscene.
Cutscene completed, equip the mask and navigate as usual.
You’ll eventually come to some combat and, enemies overcome, nav assist, interact and auto-traverse your way into a second fight.
Fight these enemies off and Thor will point out that he doesn’t need a lecture about parenting
from Atreus.
Nav assist and equip the mask to get Atreus to talk about going through a wall, as Thor begins to recover from his drunken state. Continue onwards until more enemies appear out of nowhere.
Defeat these foes, including a heavy enemy, then autotraverse into some more combat, which is probably best taken on at range.
Enemies eliminated and with Thor remarking he has no interest in bonding over shared blood,
, nav assist onwards.
Mask equipped, Atreus and Thor come to another wall of ice
which Thor dispatches.
Continue through and Atreus will comment on the idea that you can follow your own path
. Speaking of which, the path you’re on leads to more combat.
After taking down these enemies, nav assist, auto-traverse and fight some more foes.
Fun fact. If you nav assist to the interact prompt quickly enough, you don’t have to take this encounter on at all and will instead get the ending dialogue from Thor and Atreus. If you want to fight the enemies you’ve just left behind, you can just turn around, hit the prompt again and they’ll spawn in fully.
Regardless of what you decide, Thor will have some more dialogue with Atreus as they traverse, eventually coming to some more enemies in 2 back-to-back encounters not far from each other.
Once you’ve finished that set of battles, continue to nav assist. Atreus will ask about Ivaldi’s workshop, after which you’ll shortly encounter an Ancient alongside numerous ads.
Focus fire on the ancient and you should be able to bring it down, though be aware that on higher difficulties these enemies are lethal even as singular opponents.
Stun it via heavy arrows when its chest opens, then deal with the rest of the ads if they’re not gone already.
Combat done, pull out the mask and nav assist. Atreus will say I don’t think that’s where we’re supposed to go
, to which Thor will object and say that it should be fun
.
After a small skirmish, pull out the mask again and nav assist until Atreus points out a path
.
Once Thor’s helped you out, nav assist until Atreus says look’s like we gotta get up that cliff
. After a reference to an earlier remark, continue onwards.
As you continue to nav assist, you’ll get ambushed twice in quick succession, once after an auto-traversal.
Taking these enemies out and continuing, eventually, Atreus will say that he hope’s everything goes ok
for Thor.
At this point, you have a short run to another combat encounter.
Enemies defeated, keep traversing your way to a mask prompt, where Atreus will say it’s here
.
This triggers a hold prompt and another cutscene once you complete it.
Cutscene concluded, wait for the gateway exit to load, with a character switch now having taken place. Exit said gateway in the usual manner after the dialogue finishes.
Nav assist, speaking to Ratatoskr if you wish, then hit the interact prompt for the door to reunite with everyone.
Wait for the discussion to finish, then, after you’ve made any upgrades or taken any optional conversation opportunities manually via the shop, nav assist and hit the final interact prompt of the chapter to trigger a cutscene.
