Killer Instinct: Basic Menu Structure

The menu structure to Killer Instinct on the Xbox One is an interesting one, namely in so far as the “fight archive”, “help” and “options” selections take you to the same place no matter what menu they appear in. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing however as it does enable easy access to things like audio settings.

Shadow Lords

NOTE: These were written after the player had started Shadow Lords mode so the menu options may change slightly for new entrants into the mode.

  • Continue: Continue your quest to defeat Gargos
    Choosing Continue will bring you to the Hub
  • Assemble New Team: Start a new playthrough. You will keep all your stuff!
  • Multiplayer: Battle online with Guardians and Consumables. Choosing Multiplayer brings you to the Shadow Lords MP screen which is a cut and paste of the Exhibitions menu
  • Shadow Lords Leaderboards: Check your High Score and Multiplayer Rank. Choosing Shadow Lords Leaderboards offers two menu choices
    • Single Player Leaderboard: See how well you defended against Gargos versus everyone else!
    • Multiplayer Leaderboard: Who fares best when they bring EVERYTHING to the fight?

Single Player

  • Fight: Challenge AI Opponents
    • Player vs. CPU: Play against an AI opponent.
    • Shadow Lab: ***description***
    • Story: Play through story mode

      • **both of the following options take you into sub menus. If you press a on an option and hear a metallic clang, press x (this takes you through to the character select screen. If you’d have pressed A instead of x you’d be taken to the ending cinematic you highlighted)**

      • Season 1: Can you unlock all 3 Story Mode endings?
      • Season 2: Rivals: Defeat Every Rival on the Path to Victory!
    • Survival: Play Versus Forever until your eyes bleed!
    • CPU vs. CPU: Pit two AI opponents against each other.
  • Master: Improve your Skills
    • Dojo mode
    • Practice mode
    • ComboBreaker Training

      • ***Other options***

  • Store & Collection: View & Equip your Unlocks. Or Buy New Ones!
  • Fight Archive: View your Fight profile and Stats
  • Help & Options: Controls, Audio, Credits and More
