Lost Treasure

Quest Realm: Svartalfhime

Note: I originally completed this quest whilst I was already in Svartalfheim, the realm where you unlock it. These instructions, originally written with Atreus in the party, pick up after just having completed Spirit Of Rebellion and leaving the tavern.

Nav assisting your way to an interact prompt (possibly rolling to your right if your feet stop moving to obtain some Hacksilver and progress onwards), you’ll get into the boat once again.

From here, row for a while and you’ll come to a dock.

Interact and leaving the boat behind, nav assist your way forward. Note that should you need to make any upgrades or purchases, there’ll be a shop to your left that you’ll have to find manually.

Upgrades done and optional conversations taken if needed, including using a mystic gateway found directly behind you when facing the shop should you want to refill health and rage, continue nav assisting.

Strangely enough, this dock does not seem to be the intended destination of the quest, as nav assist then turns you around and puts you back on the water. However, having that gateway unlocked as well as refilling your health and rage is always a useful thing to have.

Row for a while and once you reach the correct dock, Atreus will say Seems Abandoned. Disembarking, you’ll have the boat’s interact prompt and another one in front of you, though you can’t activate it yet.

This second prompt, only accessible once you defeat some enemies (ideally from range) is, as Kratos puts it, another Berserker gravestone.

Optional Berserker Opportunity: Beigadr The Feared

This particular Berserker doesn’t unfortunately have the same telegraphed attacks as Hardrefill, meaning you’ll probably want to stick to the Stone Wall shield if you do decide to fight him.

As a gamer without sight though, I do not recommend taking on this Berserker at all, as his attacks are extremely difficult to dodge and work with in the game’s current state.

End Of Boss Fight Info

Manually move back to the boat’s interact prompt, nav assist to orient, then aim. You should get a distant throw cue to hit.

This cue is for an embed point we’ll use momentarily.

There is also a locked chest to your right, currently not covered in this revision of the guide.

Nav assist through the embed point and, after moving forward, a spirit should speak to you. Go to this one and use the optional conversation prompt, though the radius is small, so restart the checkpoint and navigate through the embed point again to try and get this.

That conversation done, as Kratos says, the task now is to retrieve the treasure. There is also a raven to your right in the distance, though you won’t be able to hit it as it’s a flying one.

Nav assist onwards to another:

Puzzle

  • Atreus should, through your nav assisting, point out a wheel should be powered by something. Aim and you should get a companion cue.
  • If you don’t get this, switch arrow types and aim again. Shoot this cue with a sonic arrow to dislodge something.
  • Nav assist until you drop down, then roll left once and aim again. You should get a throw cue for the spear here.
  • Aim and hit this, then detonate the object to start the wheel turning.
  • Nav assist your way onwards to an interact prompt that’ll swing you up to a platform.
  • Keep nav assisting until you get a second blade prompt. Use this and then nav assist and aim to get a spear throw for a detonation point.
  • Detonate this, then turn 180 degrees and then back slightly to your right to hit a stationary raven.
  • Continue to nav assist once again and you’ll find a gate-style mechanism.
  • Interact with the mechanism, pull it back all the way, then turning to your right for about half a second or so you should be able to aim and get a throw cue.
  • Hit this with a sigil arrow, then throw your axe at this to freeze a gear. Recalling the axe, disengage and nav assist again, running to a blades interact prompt.
  • Note that if you get stuck, you might have to repeat this previous with the gate step multiple times during the next section.
  • As a side note, before you swing up onto the platform, with the water wheel to your left, you might find an interact prompt that unlocks a quest, this is a treasure map.
  • Up on the platform, nav assist until your feet stop moving. Aim and you should get an axe throw cue. Hit this and you should freeze a geyser in the distance.
  • Atreus should say Nice as a mechanism springs into life, meaning you’ve completed this part of the puzzle.
  • Hearing a distant interact prompt to one side of you, hit this and once you’re standing on the new surface, recall the axe to make the platform move.
  • You’ll actually initiate combat here as well, so deal with these enemies and continue onwards.
  • Wretches dealt with from range and wheel to your right primarily, run forward until your feet stop moving, then turn to your right about 30 or 40 degrees and run forward. You should see an interact prompt, which turns out to be back-to-back blade swings.
  • If this prompt turns out to be a single swing instead, then you’ll have to repeat the gate mechanism section above again, though this time without the combat.
  • From here, you should be able to run forward and grab a legendary chest, giving you the treasure you seek, or part of it.
  • From here, nav assist and interact with a prompt to set up a zipline, then interact again to take it down to the ground.

End Of Puzzle

Nav assist onwards to return to the boat and, after rowing for a while, you’ll end up at a dock.

In my case, this turned out to be the incorrect one, but I did get the opportunity to disembark and, should you need to, head to the shop to get any upgrades.

Getting back onboard the boat, row to the correct dock, signified by an Orma to your left when you disembark and run forward a little.

Nav assist and interact with a chain, climb it, then nav assist to an embed point and interact with that as well.
Nav assist and interact your way onwards until, eventually, you’ll enter combat.

These enemies have spear-based shields, so be aware of that when taking them out and continue onwards once they’re defeated.

Interact with the oil pot, aim and throw, though you won’t hear a cue. You may hear some rocks being destroyed though.

Move forward slowly and look for the raven on your left, which you can hit, as it’s stationary.

Now, run forward into more combat, including against a Nokken or two.

The interesting thing is, if you kill the first one in this fight, the other enemies seem to be able to be defeated regardless, albeit with a little extra emphasis on damage on your part.

Once these are all dealt with, nav assist and interact with the oil pot dispenser, then continue nav assisting until your feet stop moving.

Roll backwards two or 3 times, aim and throw. The music should kick in to indicate you’ve unlocked a progression path, as well as combat against…

Boss Fight: Ormstunga

This Grim variant is just a single enemy, but can be particularly nasty as he likes to run away frequently.

Note that if you die to this foe, you’ll have to redo the oil pot throw as before to restart the fight.

Being aggressive and chasing him down, as well as watching his attacks to block or dodge as required is the best way to get rid of him for good.

End Of Boss Fight

Any resultant combat loot obtained, Nav assist to another oil pot dispenser.

Nav assist until your feet stop moving, then turn to your left and climb up a ledge.

Run forward until your feet stop moving again (it should be a relatively short run), then aim and throw. You should hopefully hear some more subtle rock breaking sounds and not get injured by the throw itself.

Note that after throwing this and destroying the rocks (which is not confirmed by any dialogue, there might be an interact for a Lindwerm around here as well should you see an interact prompt. Hit it and you’ll get a hold prompt, as well as some dialogue and a second interact for some more loot.

If you think you were successful, try and 180 degree turn and run forward to drop down from the ledge you were just on.

Once you’re down, move slowly until you hear an interact and hit it. If successful, you should be able to go through a door and Atreus will say Looks like we’re almost out of here.

<!–Go through door, 180, go back through door, nav assist to pot dispencer.

180 again from dispencer run straight forawrd. Then wait till feet stop moving, then turn lift as with Gryla until you run forward and traverse up to the ledge..

If you don’t get traversal, nav assist will take you back to the ledge area as long as you have a pot in-hand.

Without nav assisting, turn right for around a second and, then walk forward slowly and keep aiming.

Mimir will say I can see the rubble from here. This should hopefully mean you’ve snapped on to the target

Strafe left and move forward when you can to attempt to aim snap.

<!– look for upwards of ground ledge angle instead for easier consistency

If you throw and release and hit your target, the throw will take a little longer than usual and you might hear subtle rocks.

No dialogue indicates that you’ve broken the rock obstruction.

–>

The only reason you’ll really know if you’ve succeeded is if nav assist takes you through the door instead of to the dispencer.

Now navigate through the door and forward, then rolling right should allow you to access the interact for the second legendary progression chest.

Nav assist your way back through the door and along, until eventually

<!–Nav assist and you'll hear a pot thrower oon your right. Hit this and aim your pot, which should snap you to a point to reveal a legendary chest.

Nav assist forward then after 1 or 2 seconds 180 and keep an ear out on your right for the chest’s interact prompt.

This unlocks the other half of the Muspelheim seed for the crucible.

–>
Nav assist over a blades prompt to your right, drop down the other side via autotraversal, then speak to the spirit to complete the quest.

You can now return to whatever you were doing previously.
