Mortal Kombat 11: Story Transcript

Editor’s Note

This script has been edited and formatted for HTML from an original by MintyFreshDeath. The original version of this script can be found here.

Notes from the original author

Thanks to this game having a linear story path, everything written
is presented in chronological order. However, whenever the story
switches into an in-game battle, it is denoted by the phrase “They
fight.”
This is followed up with a brief paragraph of who overpowers who
and defeats them. Any specific descriptions of a brawl (i.e
“Scorpion grabs Sub-Zero”) should be considered part of a cutscene
rather than an in-game fight.

There are also points in the game where the player can choose
which character to fight as. These points will be signified by a
new paragraph starting with five dashes (—–) and immediately
below that will be the text [PLAYER CHOOSES…]. The text will
describe what happens when the character is selected, and the
process will be repeated for the other fighter directly
afterwards. Another five dashes will indicate the return to the
regular cutscene.
When speaking, characters are denoted by their names given in-game
either by the chapter they star in or by the in-game announcer.
Generally, if a name exceeds ten characters (spaces included),
then I will shorten it. If two characters from the past and
present timelines are together in a scene, their names will have
the denotations “Y.” (for young) and “O.” (for old) before their
name.
