Spirit of Rebellion

Quest Realm: Svartalfheim

Travel to Svartalfheim and track the quest. In my case, I went to the default gate the game put me on, where these instructions pick up from. This may be the gateway that you actually get the quest at in the first place.

Nav assist to an interact and climb down a chain, then nav assist again to an interact for a boat.

Get in and row for a while, potentially picking up an interact prompt for a dew or two to upgrade an attribute (such as strength or cooldown) from the water, then carry on and Mimir and Atreus will eventually talk about a statue.

This signals that you’re near to a dock, so keep rowing and interact with it to disembark, with the new area cue playing.

Nav assist your way into combat, though be careful how you use your arrows here as there are companion cues around.

Just as a tip, utilise range to your advantage and if your axe throws aren’t working, sometimes going in and pulling enemies to your level with the blades can really help speed things up.

Enemies taken care of, with Atreus potentially remarking that That dragon sculpture’s not bad, nav assist your way to an interact.

Climb a chain and once you reach the top, nav assist once to orient, then aim with your spear.

If you’re in the right place you should be able to embed a spear point and continue onwards via it’s interact prompt.

You’ll hear a spirit talking to your left, so go over and interact with him. You’ll have to do this manually, partially aided by the audio cue these shades emit.

Talking to him unlocks the Lost Treasure side quest, which is also trackable and can be completed without assistance.

Continuing on with the current quest, however, nav assist and auto-traverse to find an interact prompt for a blade point.

Hit this, then manually move to a second prompt in front of you, for a small chest containing hacksilver.

From here, nav assist into a new area, then drop down and continue to find a chisel door.

Nav assist and hit the companion cue that should be to your right, as indicated by a distant interact prompt.

Once the door is open, move to the final cue that’s revealed.

After opening the chest that the prompt is attached to, you’ll obtain the Hammer Of The Revolution and Kratos will say let’s take this to him, the him referenced of course being Durlin.

Nav assisting your way back, drop down and you’ll see a couple of interact prompts in front of you.

Optional opportunity: Hell Tear

Should you wish for an optional battle, hit the prompt to your left for a squeeze through.

From here, hitting a prompt in front of you will open a hell tear, which allows you to fight much stronger enemies.

You can of course choose not to do this and continue onwards, but in one of my runs I decided to try and complete this fight.

Note that if you die attempting to complete this, you’ll be placed right by the interact that starts the, again, entirely optional battle.

The enemies in this fight might not seem like much, but they’re quick and very aggressive. Hitting the one that attacks you right out of the gate with everything you have, including rage and runics is key, as the quicker you get that foe removed from the fight, the better.

End Of Optional Opportunity

Whether you’ve closed this tear or not, nav assist past the spirit you saw earlier via blade points.

Nav assist gets a little stuck here but after unsticking yourself, you should be able to nav assist past an Orma (the strange dog-like creatures that you’ll have at least seen once in your journey) and find an interact for a chain.

Descend this chain and navigate back to the boat.

Row for a while and you’ll come to an interact prompt for a dock. Disembark then nav assist, unstick if needed and you’ll come to the tavern.

Nav assist and first you’ll find Raeb, then Durlin.

Talking to him via an optional conversation will eventually give you your rewards, including the Mountain Splitter light runic attack for the Spear.

This is also accompanied by a quest completion cue, meaning you’ve finished this side quest and can return to whatever you were doing previously.
