Quest Realm: Midgard
Note: during Chapter 9, The Word of Fate, immediately after finishing the Animal Instincts quest, I found the first item to start this favour by tracking The Mysterious Orb quest. The instructions pick up from tracking this quest as described.
Once you’ve found the first item which should be relatively near you on the path as you nav assist back to a gateway, Kratos and Mimir will discuss Tyr being honoured through a statue, a piece of which you just picked up.
If you need to manually track the quest, Press the touchpad to go to your weapons tab and press L2 twice to get to goals.
From there, go down once to get to your various favours (i.e. side quests), then press right once to get into the list itself.
OCR is recommended to find the correct quest, referencing learning more about this landâs God Of War
.
Track this quest and follow the interactable elements and you should be able to find all the pieces, given you’ve of course just found the first to start things off. This quest grants you the Guiding Light armour set once you get everything.
Using OCR to check the items you’re picking up, you’ll want to check you’re getting the 3 armour pieces that make up the Guiding Light armour set, as well as the enchantment.
Specifically, these rewards are the:
- Gauntlets
- Waist guard
- Breastplate
- 30 whispering slabs (an upgrade material) and Enchantment: Jotunheim’s Essence.
The treasure items that are buried here don’t have a sound cue, but they are rarely if ever very far from the rune read. I’m aware this means this might be difficult if not impossible for some, but you have the ability to gain these with enough luck and patience.
Quest info
Along your journey, after finding the second rune read, drop down and enter a new area. Nav assist to an interact prompt, keep moving and aim with your blades to burn a progression blocker.
Keep nav assisting to a traversal interact and move forward, enemies await you on the other side.
First move forward, then to your right once you stop moving, then move backwards once your feet stop for a second time.
You should then enter combat, which is not going to be easy.
Said enemies are frost shielded, meaning you’ll have to use the blades to open your enemies up for damage. My suggestion is to be aggressive with the first one and once thatâs dealt with, be more patient with the second.
These two Gradungr defeated (don’t worry, you’ll see more later), nav assist and get through that annoying traversal area (it might take you some getting used to and there didn’t seem to be a very consistent way to retrace your steps.
Then Freya will point out debris, which you can aim and burn with your blade (no sigils needed), revealing another interaction prompt for the next part of the statue.
Leaving the area through that frustrating traversal spot, you might see an interact to your right. This is a rift, but it contains at least one elf that can be very frustrating to deal with considering their power level is seemingly far beyond yours.
You can defeat these elven enemies, but they are very strong and will take a lot of patience, maybe even a difficulty step down as well.
Regardless, rift taken on or not, keep nav assisting onwards.
Aim and you should find a blade prompt to ignite. Doing this should allow you to drop down and progress.
Here, I did have an issue that required me to untrack and retrack the quest, but that could’ve been because I completed the rift.
Nav assisting and running along, dropping down a couple of times, you’ll eventually end up at the exit to the current area. Interact with the door to open it.
Nav assist your way onwards and you’ll eventually find the final piece, completing the quest.
You can now return to whatever else you were doing prior.
